2010:  A Trot is Born

The 1st Ta-Ta Trot was held on Saturday, August 28, 2010 in Sunbury at the Shikellamy State Park, aka "the Marina".  62 individuals contributed (50 day of participants) raising $3,361.26 for the Susan G Komen NorthEastern Pennsylvania Chapter ($2,861.26 via Ta-Ta Trot promotions) and American Cancer Society ($500 via private donation).  The 1st Ta-Ta Trot was organized within a 2 month time-span by 4 volunteers operating on a $500 marketing and sponsorship budget.  Despite these factors, the Ta-Ta Trot event was successful in raising $3,361.26 to help promote breast health in the Susquehanna Valley.

2011 Proceeds were presented at the PA Breast Cancer Coalition's annual October conference in memory of Marie Lamey, RN. 2011:  Exponential Growth in 1 Year

The 2011 Ta-Ta Trot grew by leaps and bounds on all levels.  655 trotters participated raising $14,274.54.  Proceeds were presented at the PA Breast Cancer Coalition's annual October conference in memory of Marie Lamey, RN.

Electronic chip timing by PA Runners was added and awards were given to overall, 1st, and 2nd place runners in both male and female categories.  Numerous sponsors had booths and gave a portion of their proceeds to the Ta-Ta Trot.  Kids' activities, a Live broadcast by Tom Morgan of Y106.5, and 60 door prizes from local businesses were distributed to round out the very successful event.

2012:  50% Participation Growth in 3rd Year

While we were a little shy of the Committee's goal for 1,000 trotters in 2012, no one could be ashamed of our final trotter count of 981!  What was even more impressive was the fact we raised $43,162.79 and profited $30,049.14 with the help of trotter registrations, business donations, and the addition of the much anticipated team component.  Trotters had the choice of donating their funds to the PA Breast Cancer Coalition or Geisinger Health System's Marie Lamey Fund.  Both checks were presented in October to each respective organization ($15,296.04 (PA Breast Cancer Coalition) and $14,114.77 (Geisinger Health System - Marie Lamey Fund)).

Once again, numerous sponsors had booths the day of which included jewelry, purse, and fashionware sales, home décor, massages by donation, and glamoring for anyone who wanted to "get pinked".
The Ta-Ta Trot Committee presented a check in the amount of $14,114.77 to the Breast Clinic Team at Geisinger Medical Center to benefit the Marie Lamey Endowment.
